The longer
version.
I'm Suzanne Daniels. I founded Great Success because the engineering leaders I most respected kept asking me the same question: “Can you come in for a quarter and help us figure this out?”
Before that, I spent three decades shipping software in production environments — government, telecom, financial services, ISVs, security, networking, MSPs. I've been the developer, the architect, the manager, the head of engineering, the platform lead, and the strategist who brings the whole thing together. I didn't pivot to AI. AI pivoted to the problems I've been solving for thirty years.
Today I run Great Success alongside my role as Chief Developer Advisor at Microsoft. The day job keeps me honest about what's actually happening in the developer-productivity space at the largest scale. Great Success is where I bring that perspective to the organisations that are still figuring out which parts apply to them.
I created the Agentile operating model because Agile assumed all work is done by humans — and that assumption broke. Agentile is what comes next: lean, platform-enabled, built around the ISEE framework (Intent, Structure, Execution, Evidence) so speed runs inside structure instead of around it.
On a personal note: based in Gouderak (just outside Gouda, in the lovely Krimpenerwaard). Snowboarder. Generous with time, opinionated about correctness. Will tell you the thing you don't want to hear, and then help you fix it.
> How I work
Four principles that show up in every engagement.
01
Outcomes over deliverables.
I'd rather make one decision that unblocks a year of work than ship ten artefacts that sit in a SharePoint.
02
Embedded, not advisory.
Real change requires being inside the room when the trade-off is made — not on a slide that arrives the week after.
03
Engineer-respected, board-credible.
I can hold both conversations. If I couldn't, I wouldn't be able to translate between them.
04
No hype, no hand-waving.
Strong opinions, working code, and the receipts. If the recommendation doesn't survive a senior engineer's pushback, it's not the right recommendation.
> Receipts
Three decades, broken down.
The point isn't the list. The point is that I've seen each of these problems cycle through new branding at least once, and I can usually tell you which parts are actually new.
